Howard Anderson Sutton diaries, 1886-1892.

Four diaries, holograph, by Howard Anderson Sutton of Haverford, Pennsylvania for calendar years 1886 to 1892, documenting Sutton's youth in suburban Philadelphia through his freshman year at Wesleyan University. The diaries, numbered two through five, contain entries relating to family, friends, school, church and religious education, and social events. Some manuscript material and printed ephemera laid and pasted in. Printed ephemera consists of clippings and promotional materials for events at religious, educational, and cultural institutions such as Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania.
